Abstract
This 18th-century sculpture depicts Saint Sophia of Rome, a 4th-century martyr. The sculpture was originally enshrined in the church of Saint Agnello of Rodio. Today, it is displayed in the Diocesan Museum of Lucania. Saint Sophia was known as the mother of Saints Hope, Charity, and Faith. She gazes upwards and places her left hand on her breast.
