dc.description.abstractThis glazed terracotta statuette of St. Francis is shown by the artist, Girolamo della Robbia, holding a volume containing the Franciscan Rule and displaying his stigmata, including a wound on his chest. Girolamo was a son of Andrea della Robbia, with whom he trained and collaborated before moving to France at the behest of King Francis I. This work can be found today in the Museo Bandini in Fiesole.
