Crucifix

Abstract

In the Chapel of the Crucifix in the Santissima Trinità dei Pellegrini in Rome is a polychrome wood crucifix dated to the eighteenth century.

Christ’s head is thrown back dramatically, his mouth parted, and his body is muscular. The polychromy on parts of the sculpture, including the biceps, is worn.
