Abstract

This under-life-size sculpture depicts God the Father. Made in the 15th century, the wood sculpture was originally located in the church of San Gabriele in Capua and is now housed in the Museo Campano in the same city. God the Father holds up his left hand and gestures a blessing, and holds an orb in his right hand. The polychromy has completely chipped off, and wood-burrowing insects have damaged the surface.
