Abstract
In the church of San Pietro in Vincoli in Rome is the tomb monument of Cardinal Cinzio Aldobrandini (1551–1610) designed by architect Carlo Bizzaccheri (1656–1721) and French sculptor Pierre Le Gros the Younger (1666–1719). It features a winged skeleton representing death wearing a shroud and wings while holding a scythe. A pair of putti are at the top the monument. The white-marble sculptural elements are by Le Gros. The tomb monument was erected by Prince Giovanni Battista Pamphili Aldobrandini (1648–1709) and completed between 1705 and 1707.
