Abstract

Created between the 16th and 17th centuries, this sculpture of Saint Bernardino is made of wood. He is wearing a traditional Franciscan habit and holds what appears to be a chalice. The sculpture is not in good condition, and much of the paint has chipped off. The saint’s forehead is chipped, and the figure is missing his right hand. The sculpture was originally from the Christ of San Giovanni Battista and Nicola da Mira in Rofano but is today displayed in the Museo Diocesano di Vallo della Lucania.
