Abstract
Explain how various individuals, organizations, and specific social changes between 1914 and 1982 contributed to the development of identity, citizenship, and heritage in Canada; Lessons included: The Battle of Vimy Ridge and its contribution to the narrative of Canada’s national identity; The Residential School System in Canada from different perspectives; The Holocaust and the St. Louis Voyage and Canada Through the Lens of Popular Culture; Accomplishments: understand turning points and developments that contributed to the progress of Canada’s Military success, work with primary and secondary evidence to grasp a fuller picture of Canadian Residential Schools, read different personal stories to understand how different people were treated during the Holocaust and explore why popular culture is important to the global perception of Canada and how Canada is represented in popular culture.
