Housing Insecurity and Global Displacements

Abstract

Housing insecurity is, perhaps unbeknownst to many, a crisis that is affecting the lives of individuals and families the world over. While international crises like the 2008 subprime mortgage crash and natural disasters in the global South are well known to have put many people out on the street, it is not as widely acknowledged that housing poverty is a growing issue, becoming as commonplace as unemployment, but not always a result of it.
