Abstract
In the left aisle of Santa Maria Maggiore in Rome is the polychrome marble tomb and funerary monument of Cardinal Francisco de Toledo Herrera (1532–1596). The portrait bust is made of a white marble head and a porphyry torso. The tomb was designed in 1598 by Giacomo Della Porta (1532–1602).
