Each basin in carved from amber-coloured marble and adorned with finely draped swags of grey-black marble flanked by two huge white marble cherubs (each two meters tall). The stoups have been attributed to Francesco Moderati (1680-1721), Agostino Cornacchini (1685-1740), Giuseppe Lironi (1668-1749) and Giovanni Battista De Rossi.
