This resource pack presents four potential lessons plans to use for examining both Canadian and worldly perceptions of historical events, while also encompassing evidence and ethical dimensions. • Historical Significance: This lesson uses primary sources to investigate how the Great Depression shaped Canadian identity. • Historical Perspectives: This lesson examines the perspectives of real Holocaust victims and survivors during the final stages of genocide. • Continuity and Change: This lesson will examine key factors that led to the use of Japanese Internment camps in Canada and how the impact changed the Canadian national identity. • Cause and Consequence: This lesson explores the reactions to the Second World War on the Canadian Home Front and how the consequences of war impacted the daily lives of Canadians.
