Madonna and Child

Abstract

This Paduan terracotta sculpture of the Madonna and Child was purchased by the Pinacoteca in Bari in 2002. The Virgin, head turned slightly to the right, looks down at Christ, whom she holds in her right arm. Although the sculpture is missing most of its original polychromy, some traces of blonde can still be seen in the Virgin's hair.
