Canada: The State of the Federation 1986

Abstract

This is the second edition of the series Canada: The State of the Federation. Its purposes are to survey recent events of importance to Canadian federalism and, in light of these events, to comment on present-day and emerging issues affecting the federation. This year's edition follows the format established in 1985, having three chapters focussing on individual provinces, and a series of additional chapters dealing with prominent items on the federal-provincial agenda. A new feature is the inclusion of a chronology of events in the previous year, 1985, affecting the federal system.
